BLACK MILITARY WOMEN FOUNDATION

Brigadier General Rosetta Y. Burke, Retired, USNG

President & Founder

Black Military Women Foundation

The Black Military Women’s Foundation was established in February 2005 to be an affiliate but separate entity of the National Association of Black Military Women.  The sole purpose of the foundation is to be the official “Fund Raiser” for the NABMW.  As General Rosetta Y. Burke leaves the position of NABMW President, she now takes on a monumental  task of being the President of "The BMW Foundation".

While the NABMW focus on the mission of the organization, the BMW Foundation will focus on raising funds to support our mission and the different NABMW projects established to achieve our mission.  The organization's three main goals are:

-- Black Military Women's Museum Historical / Educational Displays

-- Documentary on the History of Black Military Women

    -- Military Women's Home & Shelter

The foundation is a Not-for-Profit tax exempt organization and is responsible for developing the NABMW official fund raising plans and packets for solicitation to various government agencies, corporations, individuals, and other organizations. All members of the NABMW are automatic members of The Black Military Women’s Foundation.  NABMW members serving in official positions  in NABMW cannot hold official positions in the Foundation.

This is a major task and Gen Burke needs your help.

We are at the next stage of growth in the NABMW.  In order to be successful in seeking out, recording and the telling the stories of Black Military Women, we need funds to support our projects.  But most of all we need your support.

We know in our membership there are NABMW members (family or friends) who have the knowledge, expertise and experience in area needed to support our mission. We must have qualified and dedicated individuals.  We are calling out to members of the NABMW to be a part of these important next steps as we make progress and history.  Please join her team.

"We are asking all women who have experience in leadership, project management, grant writing, developing business plans, non-profit law, accounting, record keeping, financial management, architect, fund raising, marketing, or public speaking to volunteer their time to help us reach our goals. This part of our work is critical."
